1. Directory purpose

The Site is an informational directory of businesses, places, and events in Portland Parish, Jamaica. It helps visitors and residents discover and contact local offerings. Unless we clearly say otherwise, the Site does not process payments, bookings, or reservations on your behalf.

2. Accuracy of information

We aim to keep information useful and reasonably current, but we do not guarantee completeness, pricing, hours, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Listings may change without notice. Always confirm details directly with the business before visiting, ordering, or booking.

3. Business submissions

If you register or update a listing, you confirm that:

• You are authorised to represent that business and share the information submitted
• The information is accurate and not misleading
• Photos and logos you upload do not infringe someone else’s rights

You grant Destination Portland Jamaica a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and adapt your listing content (including photos and logos) on the Site and in Destination Portland promotional materials related to the directory. We may edit, approve, reject, feature, verify, or remove listings at our discretion.

4. Verified & Featured badges

Verified means our team has taken reasonable steps to confirm the business appears real for directory purposes. It is not a government certification, quality rating, or guarantee of service.

Featured means the listing has an active paid Featured plan (currently J$3,000 per month) confirmed by our team. Payment is arranged off-site (for example WhatsApp, bank transfer, or cash) — we do not store bank or card details on this website. Featured does not imply endorsement of every product or offer.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringing listing content
• Attempt to disrupt, scrape abusively, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or admin tools
• Use the Site to send spam or unlawful marketing through published contact details
• Misrepresent affiliation with Destination Portland or listed businesses

We may suspend access, remove content, or refuse registrations that violate these Terms or harm the directory.

6. Intellectual property

The Site’s branding, design, and original editorial content belong to Destination Portland Jamaica or its licensors. Listing content remains owned by the submitting business, subject to the licence in section 3. You may not copy the Site’s branding or republish substantial Site content without permission, except for fair personal use such as sharing a public listing link.

7. Third-party services & links

The Site may link to WhatsApp, phone diallers, social networks, maps, and other third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or apps.

8. Herbs, spices & flowers content

Cultural and plant information on the Site is for general education only. It is not medical advice. Do not use herbal remedies as a substitute for professional healthcare. Seek qualified medical advice before using plants for health purposes.

9. Disclaimer

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Destination Portland Jamaica and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for losses arising from use of the Site or reliance on listing, map, or event information — including travel decisions, purchases, or dealings with listed businesses.

11. Indemnity (business submitters)

If you submit a listing, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Destination Portland Jamaica and its operators from claims arising out of your listing content, your business’s conduct, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Site evolves. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Courts in Jamaica have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Site, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived.
